10 Amazing Wrestler Team-Ups That Ended Way Too Early

Hogan and Savage. Sting and Luger. Piper and Flair. Rock and Foley. There are just certain wrestler team-ups that get fans excited the second they happen and through well-executed storylines, disciplined match making and probably a little luck these alliances can become legendary. Even successful heel team-ups can generate excitement because the more unstoppable the heel duo the more drama is added to the storyline of the babyfaces trying to overcome them. Andre and DiBiase together were true threats to oppose Hulkamania and company while Hall and Nash with their initial invasion of WCW looked to be legit competition from day one. Wrestling fans didn€™t actually know if the final outcome would be always positive for their heroes against such formidable threats. (and in the case of WCW never ultimately defeating the New World Order in their long storyline€sometimes they were right.) Yet, greatness in the world of professional wrestling can be fleeting. Many team-ups have the potential to be part of a tremendous storyline or elevate the careers of all parties involved but without warning (and many times without an explanation) they are scrapped. A once promising duo can fizzle out quickly due to unplanned injury, poor booking, new creative direction or simply one member leaving the company. This list examines the top ten team-ups that had all the potential in the world but for various reasons where terminated well before their time.
