Everyone's heard the age-old phrase, "two is company but three's a crowd", and it'd be tempting to suggest that goes for wrestling too before moving on. Stop to think about it though and you'll realise that it really, really doesn't. There have been some utterly brilliant trios throughout the years in WWE and beyond.

Sometimes, their cool dynamic actually made them better than most straight-up tag-teams.

Oh yes, we said it. Don't worry: there's no Demolition in here (they were better off without Crush), and there's certainly no crude attempt to claim that Edge, Matt Hardy and Lita were the greatest triangle around. That'd be crass, and it misses the point anyway; we're talking good old-fashioned wrestling threesomes that helped everyone involved.

Quick disclaimer: managers were disqualified from taking part. That'd make things too easy, and it's much more fun to focus on those trios in which every single member did some regular wrestling, or at least went on to become a full-timer in-ring.
