10 Best WWE Taboo Tuesday Fan Decisions
No Holds Barred or Extreme Rules? You decide!
Whatever its foibles, the news that Taboo Tuesday could return to the WWE pay-per-view calendar after a near-10-year absence has been largely well received by wrestling fans online.
The only question now is: Do we want Brock Lesnar to defend his Universal Championship against Heath Slater, Bo Dallas, or Roman Reigns? And should Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe battle each other in a Street Fight, a No Holds Barred match, or - and this is where it gets interesting - under Extreme Rules?
We have some big decisions ahead of us, but what about Taboo Tuesdays and Cyber Sundays past? Giving fans the opportunity to vote on match stipulations and title challengers always seemed like a great idea, so how come the concept only lasted five years before being killed dead?
Whilst our ability to outright change the direction of WWE storylines with the click of a mouse always seemed somewhat limited, we did at least have the power - from time to time - to interrupt their course somewhat (albeit, in most cases, to only a superficial extent).
And, more often than not, we called it right.
10. CM Punk Vs. The Miz (2007)
This was back when almost everyone thought that The Miz sucked - and not just within the context of him being a super-annoying heel, but rather: we legitimately thought that he was a terrible professional wrestler.
Some fans obviously saw something in him, though. At Cyber Sunday, he won 39% of the vote on who would challenge CM Punk for the ECW Championship, narrowly beating off competition from John Morrison (33%) and Big Daddy V (28%).
He lost the match, of course. The Miz was still a few years away from being anywhere near ready to hold a world title (even the ECW title).
But it was, perhaps, also an important moment in his early career, and given how many of us hastily had written him off by this stage, we really owe a debt of gratitude to those who kept the faith.
