What goes down at Backlash doesn't affect Monday Night Raw in the slightest, which feels like a unique situation. Usually, some conjecture is required when looking at what might happen on a post pay-per-view edition of Raw, but SmackDown Live's big event will have next to no consequence here.
Instead, those writing Raw have enough on their plate without analysing the other brand. This coming week, Roman Reigns will face WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens. Should Reigns emerge victorious, he will automatically be placed into the title situation at Clash Of Champions on September 25. Right now, Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens is the main event for that show, but Roman could make it a Triple Threat.
In other news, there are stories revolving around both the Raw Women's and Raw Tag-Team Titles that must be addressed before the pay-per-view. Adding to that, it'll be interesting to see if WWE choose to do anything with the United States Title - perhaps even establishing a new challenger for Rusev come Clash Of Champions?

10. Seth Rollins Beats Chris Jericho To Determine Special Referee For Main Event
Instead of Monday Night Raw opening with an in-ring segment, it'd be nice to see that behind the curtain theme continue this coming week. Standing backstage, Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon announce that they are united in a combined effort to make Raw spectacular. Therefore, they have something special in mind for tonight's main event.
During which, Roman Reigns will meet Kevin Owens. Should the former win, he will make the Clash Of Champions headliner a Triple Threat. That's a big match, but it deserves something to make it even more dramatic, so Foley and McMahon reveal that Chris Jericho and Seth Rollins will square off immediately with a special stipulation.
Whoever wins the contest will become the Special Guest Referee for Reigns vs. Owens. Naturally, Jericho would want to help out his champion buddy, whereas Rollins could keep his match from turning into a three-way.
Eventually, it's Rollins who wins. Although a rematch from last week's broadcast, the added stipulation would ensure that Rollins vs. Y2J is an exciting one, and a Seth victory doesn't mean Jericho can't get involved in the main event to come.
