The smoke is still clearing following Wrestle Kingdom 12, but NJPW is already moving into the future. The Tokyo Dome show impressed once again, and any anger directed at Tetsuya Naito’s failure to capture the IWGP Heavyweight Championship was assuaged by the promise of Naito vs. Chris Jericho. New Year’s Dash set up the next few months of New Japan shows, and the future looks extremely interesting.

It is quite obviously way too early to speculate, but what will Wrestle Kingdom 13 look like? Predicting what Gedo will do with the all powerful booking pen is a fool’s game, but I’ve never denied my buffoonery. 4 January 2019 is less than a year away after all.

Will Kazuchika Okada make it five Wrestle Kingdom main events in a row? Will Naito or Omega face him again, or will the Rainmaker come up against a new challenger? Will Hiroshi Tanahashi’s body hold up all the way until this time next year? There are so many questions and very little in the way of answers, so let’s have a bit of fun and prognosticate what the Wrestle Kingdom 13 card will look like.
