Fans of the current World Wrestling Entertainment product have undoubtedly noticed the increased television presence of Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury, known collectively (though not-so-creatively) as J&J Security. The backup to current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, they have become the tackling dummies for any and all seeking the top prize in the industry. Sure, that may not make them the most effective bodyguards in company history but that has not stopped The Architect or The Authority from continuing to employ them, probably because they serve as a great distraction for even the most focused of top contenders. Wrestling history is dotted with bodyguards who have protected some of the biggest and most influential stars. They have helped them retain titles and helped them pick up victories in the most monumental of matches. Some have even sacrificed themselves, taking tremendous punishment while allowing their charge to escape unscathed. From the Big Bossman to Chyna, the list of industry giants tasked with protecting their peers is long and illustrious. Not only have they ensured victory and countless championships for their associates, they have proven an ability to endure an A+ ass kicking in the process. In honor of J&J Security returning the bodyguard to prominence in professional wrestling, enjoy this look back at the 10 greatest heavies of all time.
