10 NXT Wrestlers Who Need To Be In A Money In The Bank Ladder Match

How about a Coup de Grâce off of a ladder?

The annual Money in the Bank ladder matches have been providing contracts that almost certainly guarantee major title wins since its inception a decade ago. If done right, WWE can take a wrestler with potential and use the concept to help them realize it.

Not everyone who wins the briefcase utilizes the opportunity to break through to that next level but the chance is there. There are success stories like in the case of Edge but also wasted opportunities like with Damien Sandow. The briefcase isn't foolproof but it's as good of chance to make a superstar as any.

NXT is WWE's development brand and host to a roster full of superstars just waiting for their chance. With a current mix of homegrown talent and some of the best international wrestlers available there are many in Florida who are ideal Money in the Bank competitors.

This article does not argue that these people should be added to this year's match (though several could pull it off) but simply hypothesizes who the best suited people on that roster are for this gimmick match.

With some NXT wrestlers it's not even hard to imagine them winning the briefcase and cashing in for a future WWE World Heavyweight Championship win. The brand is loaded with talent at the moment.

The following 10 NXT wrestlers would be a great addition to a MITB ladder match...

10. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens barely makes it onto this list. That sounds like a knock against him like he's not qualified but that's not the case. He almost wasn't considered because he was recently officially bumped up to the main roster.

If it wasn't for the fact that Owens currently holds the NXT Championship then his inclusion wouldn't work. Also, this author doesn't read Smackdown spoilers so be forgiving if Owens' NXT Open Challenge resulted in a title change.

Now that the long preface is out of the way it shouldn't be hard to imagine him in a MITB match. He comes across as a street fighter who's tough as nails. He's no stranger to a ladder and has been in some memorable ones back in his Ring of Honor days.

As for winning the briefcase, Owens  would be gold with it. He's stated many times that he's a prize fighter who wants to be in the ring when something of value is up for grabs.

Pairing him with the coveted MITB briefcase would allow him the chance to stalk whomever is champion, waiting for his perfect opportunity to claim the greatest prize in the wrestling world.
