10 Potential Opponents For CM Punk At AEW All Out 2022

CM Punk will be heading back to his hometown to fight in the main event against one of these men.

CM Punk only just returned from injury a couple of weeks ago but has already demonstrated the star power that AEW has been missing in his absence. The ensuing feud with Jon Moxley over the unified AEW World Championship already looks to be one of the hottest of the year, with the title match surprisingly being pushed forward to the upcoming episode of Dynamite.

The bout appeared to be the obvious choice to main event All Out in Punk's hometown of Chicago, but the announcement that it will occur on this week's Dynamite makes his opponent for the event less clear. It is possible that a rematch between the two AEW champions will take place at the event, as shenanigans could cause the title fight to be postponed till a later date.

However, AEW likes to deliver on their matches and often promotes pay-per-view main events that feel fresh, which means Punk's opponent could well be somebody else other than Jon Moxley. Whether or not he still holds the tile after next week, the 'Best in the World' will undoubtedly have something big planned for when he returns to his hometown on September 4th.

10. Orange Cassidy

Orange Cassidy has had a successful but strange run in AEW, as he is perennially over as an act but is never pushed to the top of the card. He has fought against big names such as PAC, Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Adam Cole, but has yet to become a champion in the company.

Orange has only challenged for the AEW World Championship once before in a Three Way match between himself, PAC, and Kenny Omega, where he was defeated. 'Freshly Squeezed' has also come close to winning the TNT title on several occasions, but has yet to win the belt.

Cassidy would be an outside bet to challenge Punk for the title at All Out, but if the company wants to build up a challenger quickly then the denim-clad star has already proven himself in that position. It would most likely lead to yet another defeat for Orange in a big match, but being in the main event of a pay-per-view would be far beyond anything he has achieved to this point.
