Having been in existence since 2001, the idea of WWE Tough Enough is intriguing in theory. Basically, through using a reality TV-type format, the company wants to showcase the industry of pro wrestling as on one level simple enough for anyone to understand, but on another hand difficult for just anyone to master. It's an intriguing premise, and one that with each consecutive season of the program has made it appear to initially be cool and fun, but at some point during the proceedings, just become tiresome, boring and largely ineffective. Considering the fact that at present zero winners of the Tough Enough program are currently employed by WWE, why bring the program back to television? If the winners actually become dead weight that WWE just keeps around in order to satisfy corporate eyes that are curious about their product investment, it feels ultimately worthless. Is WWE a pro wrestling company or are they a corporation so desperate for legitimate corporate respect that they're willing to mortgage their in-ring product in the process? The current season of the resurrected Tough Enough could be the worst one yet. In assessing why this is the case, we can possibly get to the bottom of many issues plaguing not just the show, but the company overall.
