You have a right to feel pessimistic about WrestleMania 36.

It was pretaped, an empty Performance Center isn't befitting of 'The Grandest Stage,' big names have pulled out, some of the matches haven't been built, and it won't be preceded by an electric TakeOver appetizer. These things are true and yes, there's a chance it'll be an absolute mess. But to hell with it. To hell with it all.

Escapism is never more important than when the world you're trying to escape from is a dumpster fire, and there's more than enough doom and gloom outwith wrestling right now. Let's not consign 'Mania to the misery pile before it has even aired. The easiest way to guarantee you have a bad time with something is by telling yourself it's going to suck, after all.

Stripped of its bombast, pomp, and pyro, this will be a unique 'Showcase of the Immortals,' but potentially a more intimate and visceral one, with the barrier between the performers and TV viewers all but removed. Randy Orton and Edge have adapted to the emptiness by adjusting their promo approaches accordingly: now, let's give WWE the opportunity to do the same with what would normally be the year's most grandiose show...
