10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Paige
That promo wasn't the best idea they've ever had.
Paige's private life is just that, and if you've clicked this article looking for a salacious examination of the various Paige-related stories that have made the tabloid headlines over the last year then you're going to be sorely disappointed (you pervert).
It's obvious that WWE would sooner we forgot about some of those, and to be honest, it might also be a good idea if the entire wrestling community - fans included - paid less mind to what their heroes are doing outside the ring.
Now that the elephant in the room is addressed, what about inside the ring? After a year on the shelf, Paige has been relegated to the status of Women's Revolution after-thought, but there was a time when she was one of the division's leading lights.
Despite being an accomplished performer, the 25-year-old has also seen her share of forgettable moments - owing both to near-the-knuckle promos and some extremely poor booking. And, as she prepares to make her triumphant return to the ring, it's a good time to revisit some of them - if only to remind WWE not to mess things up again.
10. She Has No Connection To Bray Wyatt
However implausible it may seem, speculation that Paige is about to be cast in the role of Sister Abigail is beginning to gather pace - and, honestly, given that the alternative could be Bray shaving his beard off and coming out in a blonde wig, we should probably be thankful.
Wrestlers get re-cast all the time - the 'Eater of Worlds' himself used to go by the name of Husky Harris, for instance - but given how recognised a figure Paige is, it will be extremely difficult for WWE to convince its viewers that she was the woman Bray Wyatt named his finishing move after.
(Unless, of course, they try and tell us that Wyatt himself was until recently somehow unaware Paige and Sister Abigail were one and the same).
