December is here, which can only mean one thing; it is time for WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs. Whilst the eponymous gimmick matches don't feel quite as special anymore, the event is usually a lot of fun with a whole lot of broken furniture mixed in amongst the broken bodies.

The ladder match is the most popular of the three, and it also happens to be far and away the most frequent of the three in WWE history. WWE has a number of different ladder match variations now too, such as the Money in the Bank ladder match and the bout that gave this Sunday's PPV its name, the TLC match.

As such, pretty much every WWE superstar of note over the last few years has taken part in a WWE ladder match. The multitude of multi-man ladder bouts mean that even guys like Alex Riley and Justin Gabriel have competed in PPV ladder matches for the company. Only two Intercontinental Champions in the last five years don't have a ladder match on their resume, for instance.

So who hasn't had to climb the rungs to end up victorious? Surprisingly, some pretty big names have managed to avoid the match to date. Many world champions, major players and wrestling gods have somehow gone their entire WWE career without taking part in a ladder match.

Here are 10 such men, with performers such as Val Venis and Chris Masters just missing out.
