Wrestling and acting should, in theory, go hand in hand. The two are basically the same thing, right? To be a successful wrestler, a modicum of acting talent is required. You can learn every move under the sun, but if you cannot sell a beating, react to a situation or cut a promo then you might as well just kiss the big leagues goodbye. There are very few exceptions to this rule and even wrestlers that fans think can't act have went on to achieve success in the movie business. Batista is a prime example of this: for his first few years in the WWE everybody thought he was wooden, shy and not believable or convincing in his promos or mannerisms. As we have seen, Batista got great notices for his performance in the blockbusting Guardians Of The Galaxy this past summer. He is not the first actor to do achieve acclaim, however. Randy Savage was given plaudits for his depiction of Bonesaw McGraw in Sam Raimi's Spider Man, Jesse Ventura's role in Predator is remembered fondly, Roddy Piper's performance in They Live is legendary and The Rock has been tearing it up in Hollywood for over a decade now. There are some wrestlers, however, whose performances have not been so well received and have faded into obscurity. Sometimes, their role is so small or their appearance so different to what it usually is that you don't even recognise it's them. Here are ten performances by wrestlers you might have missed.
