16 WTF Moments From WWE SmackDown Live
The Miz needs to give David Otunga one of those Participation Awards...
There appears to be some kind of internal battle in WWE right now to become the most outlandish announcer. If big JBL isn't hitting us all over the head relentlessly with some John O'Clock action, Michael Cole is swigging moonshine and talking nonsense on Monday Night Raw.
Then there's David Otunga, oh boy is there David Otunga. 'Dishy Dave' had been improving before this week, when he randomly decided he'd rather join in on all the hilarity. There's something in the Gatorade they provide to those commentators, there just has to be.
Leading the party, the SmackDown production crew had a bit of an off night come Tuesday. Whilst things were all over the shop on that front, the fun and games didn't stop there.
Why was there a random child backstage cutting promos? Why was there some gimmick infringement from the usually-dynamite Mauro Ranallo? Why was one half of The Ascension dressed like the 'Big Red Machine' circa 2002?
So many WTF moments, and here are the most notable from this week's SmackDown...
16. Production Problems
Greg Hamilton is good, isn't he? The former NXT man has been a great fit for SmackDown. Let's hope he's a tyrant behind the scenes though, because he has every right to be miffed at the WWE production staff.
Ready to announce the SmackDown Tag-Team Title bout, Hamilton was rudely interrupted by that little 'BLERGH' thing The Wyatt Family use to splice up their segments. Making matters worse, there had been approximately 13 years of silence after Hamilton did his job and told fans what titles the match revolved around.
Seriously, he was standing there for ages waiting on that music to play. Tut tut, production. This was WCW standards!
