18 Things You Probably Missed From WWE Raw (July 8)
POW! Right in the kisser!
If ever more proof of the impact Paul Heyman has had on Raw's layout was needed, just look at the closing segment of Monday's episode. Frozen out ex-205 Live star Cedric Alexander was used as the show's lasting visual after unmasking and revealing that (shock) he wasn't actually some placid janitor with a lame leg.
This is a big improvement over Alexander's recent fortunes, and it will hopefully lead to some sort of sustained, slow-burning push.
There's nothing slow-burning about this 18-entry romp through some things you might've missed on the WWE flagship this week. The increased emphasis on believable in-ring action and straightforward storytelling has made Raw a more enjoyable program over the past fortnight, and that continued in Newark.
Here, you'll find Baron Corbin no-selling everything, Ricochet selling his ass off, heels ordering fans to do their bidding, some subtly brilliant booking before this Sunday's Extreme Rules pay-per-view and a fair few mini-botches, one coming for a guy you wouldn't expect.
There are also commentary lies, some original ECW references and fans being d*cks. Sorry, New Jersey, but it's true...
