20 Most Puzzling Shawn Michaels Photos Ever

More HBK than you can throw a Sweet Chin Music at. A LOT more.

Shawn Michaels will have been retired for five years by the time that WrestleMania 31 rolls around. And boy has wrestling missed him. The Heartbreak Kid is one of the greatest in-ring performers of all-time. Nobody was as versatile as HBK. He could brawl, do technical wrestling, high-flying and gimmick matches better than anyone else. A total one-off, Shawn also had charisma in spades. Indeed, it was Michaels (along with Bret Hart) who really carried the WWF through the dark days of the mid-90s. But as talented as Shawn was (even his biggest detractors would admit that he was a gifted in-ring performer) he could also be a nightmare to deal with. Childish, petulant and no stranger to backstage politics, Michaels and fellow 'Kliq' members Scott Hall and Kevin Nash managed to p*** off the majority of the WWF locker room with their interference and purported selfishness. Michaels famously came back from what was thought to be a career-ending back injury and proved to everyone that he was still one of the greatest professional wrestlers in the world. Shawn came back as a born-again Christian and seriously mellowed out since the 90s. His religious beliefs even made him hesitant to reunite DX in 2006. Shawn may have retired in 2010 but he has left us with plenty of perplexing pictures that show us the dual nature of The Heartbreak Kid.
