'Tis the season for duking it out with your bitter rivals in the centre of the squared-circle. Or if you go by the name of Maxwell Jacob Friedman, the season for landing on the very top of your skull and scaring the life out of the entire wrestling community. Ho, ho, ho, and all that.
It says a lot that a night which also saw an Undisputed reunion capable of shifting the very core of AEW's future still held the capacity to pop those watching at home and the lucky thousands on their feet in the arena with a Dynamite main event for the ages. Stinger face paint across the babyface board, a CM tribute on the mug of The Icon, and an all-round masterclass in working to the strengths of the legends involved proved once again that, on their day, All Elite cannot be beat.
For a week crammed full of multi-person chaos, however, there's still no doubt over where the focus lies towards the top of this particular Christmas tree. Danielson vs. Hangman II is set for the first Dynamite of 2022 (the first of the TBS era, no less), with judges being brought in to play to score the battling Dragon and Cowboy should they once again slug to a stalemate.
Ruby Soho booked her spot in the TBS Tournament final, Tay Conti and Penelope Ford grappled each other into submission, and The Doctor brought some festive cheer for all to hear. Oh, and more Shida vs. Deeb wars in the new year? Please and thank you.
