With a solid, if not disappointingly concluded, Revolution now firmly in the rear-view mirror, AEW were determined to celebrate St. Paddy's day in the only way they knew how this week; with a ton of stellar wrasslin' laced in bright green, of course.
Of the many glorious pieces of gold at the end of this particular rainbow, we had Cody Rhodes on the look out for revenge against a masked luchador who crossed the line seven days earlier. However, despite picking up the victory over Penta el Zero Miedo, it was 'The American Nightmare' being picked off the canvas by his family thanks to a wicked post-match beatdown by his rival.
Though Kenny Omega becoming a literal walking/strutting meme and the announcement of 'The Pinnacle' officially becoming a thing threatened to steal the rest of the show, Wednesday night belonged to two women alone. Battering the piss out of each other for fun, Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa set the new standard for women's wrestling in the company during a bloody war of Lights Out attrition. Rosa may have come out the winner, but there were no losers here; only a bloodied up face of the division and a defining moment in AEW history.
