Now that 2020 is firmly in the rear-view mirror, WWE have finally decided to leave all those bizarre booking decisions behind once and for all and spend more time building up their current crop of full-time talents into the mega stars of tomorrow. I'm sorry, what? Goldberg returned and challenged a World Champion during a pointlessly over-stuffed Legend's Night on the first Monday Night Raw of 2021? Apologies, scrap that first part.

Despite the fact 'Da Man' made an instant tit of himself, thanks mostly due to his odd choice of motivation, and being compared to 'Da Dad' in WWE Champion Drew McIntyre's eyes, Goldberg looks set to take on the Scot at the 2021 Royal Rumble. Bizarrely, that wasn't the most shocking title match set up during this week of WWE programming, though.

That prize goes to the reveal that none other than Postman Pearce (or former NWA World Champion and WWE Producer Adam Pearce as he sometimes goes by) will be challenging Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the event. Sure, it's worth remembering that we've got a few more weeks of twists and turns to go before we make it to January 31, and Pearce may not actually end up having to test if his gear still fits like it once did. But, who saw this coming in week one of 2021?
