3 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's Impact Wrestling (May 3)
Rebellion fallout marks the start of a new era for Impact Wrestling.
For the first time since Sunday's Rebellion pay-per-view event, the stars of Impact Wrestling were on full display as a new era for the company kicked off. With new champions being crowned and a couple of new faces arriving, the future of Impact is on the up.
In the World Championship scene, we've got Brian Cage sitting atop the throne after his victory over Johnny Impact. Despite The Machine not even being on this show in any capacity (he suffered a slight injury), his first challenger was determined as Johnny, Pentagon Jr., and newcomer Michael Elgin did battle in the main event to decide who would get the first crack at Cage.
The episode also featured the return of Rob Van Dam, with RVD putting in quite the performance at United We Stand prior to resigning. The Whole F'N Show was met by Ethan Page, with All Ego claiming that unlike all the other members of the X Division, he never idolised Van Dam. If this is leading to a proper rivalry between the pair and not just a random singles bout, it could do incredible things for Page's singles career when he's not teaming with Josh Alexander.
As is typical with the majority of wrestling shows these days, there were some particularly tedious segments, such as Eddie Edwards apparently thinking Kenny the kendo stick is more than just a weapon. It hasn't been the easiest of times for the accomplished tag team wrestler. Let's get to it...
