Despite what the Ups to Downs ratio says in the headline, last night's edition of NXT UK wasn't a bad show from an in-ring perspective.

You see, the majority of these downs came from the promos on offer. None of them were enjoyable and/or made sense. More or less the exact same SUBCULTURE vignette was played back, Stevie Turner's futuristic promo didn't make much sense, and the five competitors in next Thursday's NXT UK Women's Championship number one contender's gauntlet match all had the same story to tell.

It needs to be mentioned that these promos were good from a pure promo perspective. They all somewhat got their points across while delivering their stories to a decent level. The only thing holding them back is that these weren't the points that were worth making.

In-ring-wise, however, it was a good night, aside from Trent Seven's unnecessary victory over Saxon Huxley. Seriously, how can you get distracted, still defeat your opponent, and find nothing wrong with it booking-wise? Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan had a decent no disqualifications bout that saw the loser depart NXT UK, while Ilja Dragunov broke Dave Mastiff's nose in under two minutes, bringing an abrupt end to their show-opening bout.

Let's get to it...
