"Massive" AEW Announcement Incoming...
What does Tony Khan have up his sleeve for the not too distant future?
Tony Khan has announced that he's currently working on "something massive" for All Elite Wrestling.
With the AEW President looking to get whatever it is he's chipping away at all tied up and official within the coming week, TK took to Busted Open Radio to reveal:
"There will be a lot of news in the week ahead. I don’t know if I will get it done by tonight, but stay tuned in the week ahead, hopefully. I am working on something pretty big. It would be massive. I don’t know if it’s what anybody would expect it is, or think it is, but it would be a big deal in pro wrestling. I am looking forward to hopefully making it happen, stay tuned. Hopefully, I will get it done and have more to announce soon.”
The wording of Khan's statement doesn't seem to suggest he's referencing yet another performer wandering through the Forbidden Door or stepping out of the free agency market. Some have even gone as far as to theorise that Khan could be on the cusp of announcing a new partnership with another promotion, perhaps in the form of a Supershow with a company like NJPW... for example.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter would also note that TK was “in meetings all day yesterday" as he attempted to get this incoming reveal all signed off on, ready for a jaw-dropping announcement likely on social media or perhaps even this week's Dynamite. Though Meltzer wouldn't add any other details on precisely what the deal consists of, Khan has had a habit of delivering the goods with these big reveals as of late. So, hopefully he can add another game-changing reveal to his ever-growing list this week.
