35 Top WrestleMania Performers In WWE History

The wrestlers synonymous with WWE's biggest show of the year.

WrestleMania is the time of year when the lights shine brightest, when all eyes are focused on WWE. It essentially has become professional wrestling’s Super Bowl, one grand event that showcases the best the industry has to offer. It is the time of year when performers give their best efforts to wow fans and deliver the most entertaining matches possible.

At least, that is what is supposed to happen. Throughout its 34-year history, about 400 performers have competed in at least one WrestleMania match – with nearly half wrestling just one bout (so far). Some are easily forgettable, while others have left indelible marks on the event. Some wrestlers are synonymous with WrestleMania, while others seemingly blend in with the background.

There are a handful of those wrestlers who stand out as notable performers, men and women who – either through longevity, success, notoriety or a combination of the three – can be considered among the best performers at WrestleMania. This is not simply a function of won-loss record (considering the predetermined nature of wrestling). You must also take into account the types of matches in which these men competed – title matches, main events, featured bouts – and the quality of those matches.

So, let’s get on with this subjective list. Feel free to voice your choices in the comments.

35. AJ Styles (2-1)

If not for a mind-boggling loss at his first WrestleMania (32) against Chris Jericho, AJ Styles would be in a better position on this list.

The Phenomenal 1 rebounded at WM 33 to defeat Shane McMahon in a curtain-jerking main event (hint: any match involving a McMahon is a main event), carrying the SmackDown Commissioner to a perfectly acceptable match.

Styles then retained his WWE Championship at Mania 34 last year against Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura in what was concocted as a dream match but fell short of expectations.

Still, he’s had three notable matches, including a successful world title defense, so that merits placement on this list.
