There are many reasons why CM Punk is likely to struggle in the UFC: age, inexperience, injuries, and so on. That's not to say we don't want the best for him - we do. Punk (a.k.a. Phil Brooks) is an entertaining guy, be it in the squared circle of the WWE, the world of comics, or making guest appearances on The Talking Dead. It's hard not to be entertained by a guy who seems a lot like "one of us" - into genre films and shows, comics, wrestling, fighting - and it's hard to root against him. The reality is, however, that he has a tough mountain to climb ahead of him. The good news? CM Punk has always been at his best with a tough challenge in front of him. So, what does he need to do to succeed? A number of things. Some of the tools he already possesses, others he'll be pressured to pick up in just a relatively short period of time. All, however, will be critical to Punk making a successful UFC run. He's got a multi fight deal and has told MMA journalist Ariel Helwani that he plans to fight into his forties.
