After making his big screen debut as The Scorpion King, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has gone on to star in some of the biggest blockbusters including, GI Joe: Retaliation, Hercules, and The Fast and The Furious movie franchise. His acting success has stretched past the movies, and even into the Reality TV genre.  Johnson has created and been a part of shows like Wake Up Call (TNT), Ballers (HBO), and The Hero (TNT).

The Rock will soon be out promoting his next movie, San Andreas, which is scheduled for release on May 29th.  He has called this movie, the biggest production he has ever been a part of.  In the movie, Johnson plays a Los Angeles Fire Department rescue-helicopter pilot, and after a major earthquake hits California, he has to find and rescue his daughter.

The role of hero is something The Rock is very familiar with, going back to his WWE days. No matter if  he was a face or a heel, The Peoples Champ or The Corporate Champion for Vince McMahon, The Rock always had a vital role in the company.

Before playing a hero in his upcoming movie San Andreas, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was busy saving the WWE.  The following are 5 instances where The Rock should be considered a hero in the WWE.

5. Surprise Appearance At WrestleMania 31 With Ronda Rousey

Just a few weeks ago at WrestleMania 31, The Rock made a surprise return to the WWE, and confronted his long time rival Triple H.

Midway through the show, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon made their way to the ring to address the WrestleMania crowd in San Jose.  Triple H was boasting about beating Sting earlier in the evening, and said it was like "beating all of the 76,976 fans in attendance." They also went on to say that they owns the fans and the talent.

That would of course bring out The Peoples Champ, to defend all of the fans in attendance.  After some back and forth between The Rock and The Authority, Stephanie McMahon would slap The Rock and demand he leave the ring. The Rock would exit, only to walk around ringside and stop in front of his friend, UFC Women's Champion Ronda Rousey. Together they entered the ring, and all four faced off, with Rousey eventually throwing McMahon out of the ring.

The Rock was able to spark an already huge show, and laid the groundwork for a likely match next year at WrestleMania 32.  The WWE is looking to break the attendance record next year in Dallas, Texas. When the WWE needs help accomplishing a goal, they turn to the Rock. His participation at the event is sure to help.
