For every wrestler, there is always a shelf life. It is arguably the hardest professional sport in the world, similar to rugby, hockey and football. Every night is demanding as they put their body on the line to entertain the masses. However, every great thing must come to an end. Wrestlers are people too, which is why retirement is a real thing, even though the fans refuse to accept it. Every fan has a favorite wrestler. The day they retire is a sad day in their life. Superstars become so closely-connected with the audience, that it's almost as if they are family. Sadly, injuries also contribute to early retirements. Just ask Edge how that feels and it is no picnic. Even though his retirement was looming a few years after his original announcement, it was still a devastating day in professional wrestling. There are a few wrestlers that should retire now and save their bodies. For the first man on this list, it wasn't injuries that put his on-screen appearances on hold, but rather Creative having nothing for him.

5. Curt Hawkins

Once a former-Edgehead turned into a useless jobber, Curt Hawkins once was a main-event player with Zack Ryder and Edge. Now, it is a rarity to see Hawkins on an episode of Monday Night Raw or even Friday Night Smackdown. Men like Hawkins are being wasted in WWE. So, why not retire and be a full-time agent or trainer? Hawkins could impact the young roster to be able to make the product better down the road. The WWE Universe witnessed Hawkins perform under different gimmicks, so his experience level is off the charts with variety. It's not as if he is a one-trick pony; the Glen Cove, New York-native just opened up his own wrestling school as well. He could potentially turn into a trainer for WWE down the road.
