6 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Feb 3rd)

Apollo Crews steps up BIG TIME in a superb match with Finn Balor.

By Kenny McIntosh /

The NXT brand has kicked off 2016 setting up the road to Takeover: Dallas in just two months time. Finn Balor is the NXT Champion and, on last week's episode, Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn both made Baron Corbin tap out at the same time, so going into this week's show it was unclear who the number one contender would be going into Dallas. This week we were promised an announcement by NXT General Manager, William Regal to determine who would get the right to face the would-be leader of The Balor Club. Bayley is getting ready to face her best friend Carmella for the NXT Women's Championship, so this week's episode was about the set up for that match with a focus on Carmella and her story. While Dash and Dawson, the NXT Tag Team Champions, had the night off but were scouting the tag team scene. Now, I'm not gonna lie, I've seen the spoilers for all of the NXT tapings up until Takeover: Dallas, but for fun and the purposes of looking at these shows as a stand alone, I'm not going to include any spoilers of future happenings. This might lead to me speculating on something that's already happened or been recorded, but it's NXT - it's a good enough show that we should all WANT to play along. So sit back and relax as we present to you the 'ups' and 'downs' from this weeks episode of NXT.
