7 HUGE WWE Hell In A Cell 2019 Predictions You Need To Know
Hell In A Last-Minute Sell.
This one's going to have to be a little bit different.
In light of WWE scrambling through the busiest non-WrestleMania week in at least two decades, Hell In A Cell 2019 may be the most under-serviced pay-per-view since the company shat out the humiliating ECW December To Dismember in 2006.
Back then, Vince McMahon was rapidly developing a loathing for the brand Paul Heyman had tried in vain to protect, and tore up his plans to reassert his authority on a product rapidly going off a cliff. What followed was a two-match card stretched out over less than two hours, with a good-not-great opener between The Hardy Boyz and MNM representing the peak of the entire event.
This, fortunately, won't be the fate of this Sunday's show, but the atmosphere in the arena may be one of the oddest in recent memory. It's strange; the four matches booked as of writing all have show-stealing potential, and yet weren't deemed so great that they could be used to spike a rating on the first Fox edition of SmackDown. It's a potential paradigm shift the company may have to battle every month in the near future, and asks for a type of forward planning they've not been particularly good at since 2000 writing wunderkind Chris Kreski and his storyboards were laughed out of Stamford.
So here's a set of suggestions on what we do know, as well as a few shots in the dark at how WWE can possibly maximise their own minutes...
7. Bayley Vs Charlotte
There's been a simplistic intelligence to the way Charlotte has earned title shots so far, with her two clean tag team victories over Champion Bayley undermined by an ill-gotten victory for 'The Hugger' at Clash Of Champions.
She'll get a second bite at Hell In A Cell after a SmackDown tap-out win, but with Survivor Series looming, the company are inching ever-closer to a unique heel battle between The Boss N Hug Connection at the Red Vs Blue supercard.
Charlotte, meanwhile is sure to be cast as the jewel in the blue brand crown, and her journey back to the throne could and should be protracted for the good of WrestleMania season at very least. As important as the result here is the quality of the match itself - the Clash encounter was a borderline bait and switch in how short it was and cheaply it ended.
They are two of the company's best, and should be given the platform upon which to prove it.
Winner - Bayley
