8 Biggest Mysteries Still Surrounding WrestleMania 34
Bye bye, Beast?
WrestleMania 34 is just six days away. After last night's go-home show, Raw's build is over, and SmackDown will present their final episode on the road to the year's biggest wrestling event this evening. The pieces are in place, the matches are booked, and the stories have been told: now, it's all about New Orleans.
WWE have knocked this year's build out of the park, delivering a card laced with intrigue. Every match comes with at least one big talking point, and from Daniel Bryan's euphoric return to the absurdity of Ronda Rousey competing in a WWE ring, there are dozens of major hooks throughout.
Hype levels are through the roof. Much of this comes from unpredictability, as while there are a handful of nailed-on winners on the card (hi, Roman), most bouts are a coin flip. More so than at any other point in recent history, the Show Of Shows is shrouded in mystery.
That WWE have left so much in the balance is commendable, but WrestleMania 34 will live or die on the company's ability to deliver gratifying answers to its biggest questions, many of which will define the night as a whole...
8. Will Samoa Joe Wrestle?
Absent since January, the injured Samoa Joe was reportedly backstage at last night's Raw (as per PW Insider), but WWE opted against including him on the WrestleMania 34 go-home show.
The former NXT Champion has been suffering from a bout of plantar fasciitis. A potentially serious foot condition, it can keep athletes sidelined for months, but while WWE are yet to confirm that Joe has been cleared to return, if he was at Raw, there's a good chance he's on the comeback trail.
This makes WrestleMania a real possibility, with rumours suggesting he'll be added to The Miz, Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor's three-way Intercontinental Title match. This on-the-night addition would make for an exciting moment, and with Joe set to wrestle the trio for the belt at April 27th's Greatest Royal Rumble event, it's easy to connect the dots.
Throwing him in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal is another option, but unless he was booked to win, this'd be a disappointment. Joe was omitted from 'Mania 33, but has been consistently excellent since arriving on the main roster. He deserves a decent spot, and if he's healthy, joining the IC Title bout would provide that.
