8 Hidden Meanings Behind WWE SummerSlam 2020 Attires

There were two contrasting colour schemes that ran throughout the night during SummerSlam 2020, and your writer welcomes an explanation beyond total coincidence for one of them.

Several performers were decked out in white, gold and black, which have been known to bring luck at this time of year after a clean sweep for a parade of champions in 2015. More on some of those later, but what of the gang of four sporting truly luxurious turquoise this year?

One assumes Bayley and Corey Graves didn't coordinate even if Andrade and Angel Garza did, but any deeper reasons for these almost identical shade selections will have to go unknown for now, even if they all looked absolutely stunning.

It's not been a banner time for cool new wrestling gear, but then it's not been a banner time for f*cking anything has it? With wrestlers reportedly in higher spirits thanks to the ThunderDome providing a much needed change of scenery, SummerSlam felt like the first proper pay-per-view since Elimination Chamber, and dressed accordingly for the occasion.

We're still a way away from everybody going to WrestleMania lengths with their attires, but an extremely pleasing array here provided the most fleeting of feelings that maybe normal life might one day return, and not the accursed "new" one that's a four out of ten at best. Kudos to those that went to all the trouble - the one long night that is this wretched year desperately needed breaking up with a little glimmer of light.

8. Zelina Vega - Sombra

Regular visitor to these parts Zelina Vega was back with another detailed cosplay, rocking up to the ThunderDome as she did dress as Sombra from Overwatch.

Some quick research tells your aging writer that the character has been known to camouflage and infiltrate, which would tie nicely into the recent secret poisoning storyline had she not been found out and/or barely obscured her crime in front of about a hundred cameras.

Still, the attire looked fantastic, and she was well-intentioned for her team in her evil deeds. And speaking of the least successful stable in WWE history...
