8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 18)

Jon Moxley gets knocked out, Will Hobbs turns, and Team Taz become AEW's alpha stable.

What was perhaps the biggest story coming out of last night's AEW Dynamite didn't concern professional wrestling at all, as Jon Moxley casually announced Renee Paquette's pregnancy in the middle of a promo on Kenny Omega. Congratulations to the happy couple on this excellent news - and Moxley burying the lead in such a way might just be the most Jon Moxley thing of all time.

AEW debuted a reconfigured opening video package and slightly altered graphics last night, freshening Dynamite's aesthetic up. They also aired the Boundless: The History of a Revolution package produced in collaboration with DirectorX, which was excellent, highlighting personalities as diverse as Brandi Rhodes, Hangman Page, Nyla Rose, and Miro.

Elsewhere, this was a heated show. AEW ramped up at least half-a-dozen bitter, personal rivalries on the road to Winter Is Coming on 2 December, with even the Moxley/Paquette announcement serving a higher purpose, as we'll dive into. This show, for the most part, ruled.

Cody and Darby Allin vs. Brian Cage and Ricky Starks was the main event on a night that brought a big heel turn, backstage assaults, a Hangover tribute, and a stable reforming. Let's light the fuse...
