8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 5)

Solid in-ring action, minimal authority figures, logical storytelling. This is Raw?

After weeks of lackluster episodes focused on brand supremacy and fantasy warfare becoming real, Raw turned what could be a huge corner Monday night… or it could be a one-time deal, who knows right now?

But regardless, Monday Night Raw was an entertaining affair that featured solid in-ring action, good storytelling throughout the episode, a minimal amount of foolishness and a minimal amount of authority figure involvement. And all of that really showed.

We saw Chris Jericho chase the last title that has eluded him in his professional wrestling career – a fact that made for a more compelling storyline than many of the other title chases we’ve seen. We saw two title-holders becoming more and more desperate to hold onto their championships. We saw adultery used as a plot device – and work. And we saw rivalries renewed and the ups and downs of them.

All of this made for a Raw that provided WWE a platform to move ahead… if the company can build off of Monday. If not, let’s just enjoy what we got and be grateful. We’ll worry about next week next week.
