It's a new era for TNA. Yes, we’ve been through many new eras before: The weekly pay-per-view era, the Fox Sports era, the Hulk Hogan era and the Destination America era...and probably another seven or eight of them in there somewhere. Now, we’re once again in a new one, and it may (believe it or not) be the most promising one yet: The Billy Corgan era.

Corgan is, of course, the lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins. But he’s also a long-time wrestling fan with an absolute passion for the business. His involvement dates back to an angle in ECW years ago, and more recently he helped run a small promotion in Chicago. Now he’s the president of TNA, and this can only mean better things for the company.

With Dixie Carter as president, TNA grew tremendously (again, believe it or not) from their weekly Nashville shows to having over a million fans watching Impact a week. And then their audience shrank rapidly. A drastic shake-up was needed, and with Corgan investing in the company and gaining power, he could be the answer the company has been searching for.

This past year has been a consistently entertaining one for Impact. It’s not WWF Attitude era level, but it’s been solid, with good wrestling and the right talent being pushed. However, there’s still a very long ways to go for them to regain their previous momentum and viewership. Hopefully Billy is up for the challenge.

Here are nine changes he needs to bring to TNA to make them succeed.
