9 Things To Expect From Conor McGregor's UFC Return
Conor McGregor returns to the Octagon to face Donald Cerrone at UFC 246!
We have been spoiled rotten as modern MMA fans over the last 12 months, gorging on a buffet of back-to-back fight cards, loaded with the best martial artists from the world over. However, there has been a little something missing from the pallet: a sprinkling of Irish seasoning.
On 19 January, we see the “Notorious” Conor McGregor return to the Octagon after a lengthy ban, where he'll face Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.
So before we strut our way to fight night, let’s discuss a few things we might expect.
9. The Return Of The Notorious
As we sit a couple days out from the UFC 246 press conference, so far we've seen a lot less of the mental warfare we've become accustomed to from the Notorious one. We suspect that Connor may be taking a more reserved approach to the confrontation, with mountains of pressure on his shoulders as stated by UFC boss Dana White and many other onlookers who believe that this is a must-win situation for the Irishman.
Is it possible that the lavish lifestyle which follows 100 million in the bank and a rear naked choke, which makes my my jaw ache just thinking about it, has "humbled" Conor? Doubt it.
The outspoken battle hungry attitude Conor has shown throughout a 25 fight career has defined him. He's full of witty on-mic barrages that shame some of pro-wrestling's best scripted promos, taking him from the prelims all the way to “Champ Champ” status. Twinned with his world class fighting ability, Conor's silver tongue has created a new breed of superstar which his contemporaries have been imitating to lesser effect for a while now.
But as he says: "The king is back".
