AEW producer Ace Steel has been fined for saying "f***ing" on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite.

A long-time friend of World Championship contender CM Punk, Steel appeared in an in-ring segment with his fellow former Second City Saints member, with his fired-up promo encouraging Punk to sign a contract to face Jon Moxley at All Out 2022 (4 September). Steel dropped the following lines as part of this:-

"... you lost in Cleveland. So what? So what? In your own words... in your own words, 'life isn't about how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get up. And you f***ing get up! You get up! You get up and fight!"

While softer curses are generally permitted in AEW, the above isn't in the company's lexicon - and Steel was fined for his slip-up.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that AEW talent were sent an email earlier in the week. This contained a number of requests, including one stating that performers should be careful not to swear on television this week.

Hence, Steel was fined. The former ROH man took full responsibility for what had happened upon returning backstage, agreeing to and paying the fine. AEW will be donating that money to charity.

AEW communications praised Steel's immediate response to the situation, citing it as an example of how to accept responsibility for accidental errors.
