Adam Cole has talked up the prospect of facing Edge in WWE, doing so in a new interview with Fox Sports.

Calling Edge an all-time great heel, Cole admitted to wanting the match "so, so, so, so badly" when asked about the prospect of facing the Rated-R Superstar by interviewer Ryan Satin:-

"Edge is one of the greatest heels of all time. His run, no matter where he was – as a tag team wrestler, as a World Champion, as a heel, as a babyface – it didn’t matter. He was just so fantastic. And the fact that Edge, indeed, does want to come back and not just wrestle every now and then but is excited at the idea of wanting to come and wrestle guys in NXT."

Triple H's pre-TakeOver: Vengeance Day media call in February saw him claim that Edge wants to step foot in an NXT ring sometime during his current run. If that happens, Cole would likely sit near the top of many fans' wishlists.

The former NXT Champion recalled the years before Edge's comeback in the 2020 Royal Rumble, when the veteran would make trips to the Performance Center to share knowledge:-

"I remember years ago Edge used to come down to the Performance Center and share his knowledge with people, just because he has such a passion for pro wrestling, and it was so cool to see that and how important it was to him. He’s one of my all-time favorites. His body of work speaks for itself. Yeah. If I had the opportunity to get in the ring with Edge, I wouldn’t pass that up for anything. I would love the chance."

Cole is currently locked in a feud with Kyle O'Reilly, who cost him a shot at the NXT Title on last night's show. Edge, meanwhile, is booked to face Roman Reigns or Daniel Bryan for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37.
