The former Braun Strowman's Ring Of Honor debut was one of the biggest stories to emerge from the weekend's Final Battle event, where Adam Scherr was introduced by EC3 towards the end of the show.

EC3 was in the ring after he and The Foundation had dropped an eight-man tag to Rocky Romero and VLNCE UNLTD. Addressing Dak Draper, Brian Johnson, and Eli Isom in the ring, he was soon flanked by two other newcomers (including former WWE wrestler Wesley Blake), before saying "free 'The Titan'", drawing Scherr out. Seconds later, Isom, Johnson, and Draper were cleared out of the ring.

Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Scherr showing up alongside EC3 was likely a sign that the duo will end up working together in either IMPACT Wrestling or AEW.

EC3 brought Scherr back into wrestling through his Free The Narrative project on 1 October. The duo wrestled each other in a cinematic match airing on that date, with Scherr getting the victory, and have since teamed up for indie promotion GLCW on 4 December.

Scherr has been particularly heavily linked with IMPACT in the past, including around the build-up to October's Bound For Glory 2021 pay-per-view.
