AEW Dynamite has once again trounced WWE NXT in the Wednesday night ratings war, though both shows were down on the previous week's numbers.

Dynamite experienced a sharp decline from its debut episode. The show drew 1.018 million viewers on TNT and a further 122,000 on the truTV simulcast, making for a total of 1.140 million across both platforms, having notched an impressive 1.409 million on week one.

NXT, meanwhile, dropped from 891,000 to 790,000, continuing the brand's trend since debuting on USA Network.

Dynamite defeated NXT in the key 18-49 demographic as well. AEW notched a 0.46 rating amongst those viewers, while NXT hit just 0.22. Again, the only demo in which WWE defeated AEW was 50+.

As pointed out by Figure Four Online's Dave Meltzer and Paul Fontaine, the night's television was largely dominated by a couple of big baseball games that drew approximately 9 million viewers between them. They also note that while AEW's viewership was down, most markets saw viewership increases as Dynamite progressed, with several peaking in the final segment.

Either way, while the declines are disappointing, that's 2-0 to AEW in the so-called Wednesday Night Wars.
