In what has to be seen as quite the blow for AEW, the ratings for this week’s Dynamite and NXT are now in – and the post-Revolution Dynamite suffered a near-200,000 drop when compared to last week’s numbers.

Last week saw AEW bring in an average of 934,000 viewers on the way to Revolution, while this Wednesday’s average, as per Showbuzz Daily, dropped to 743,000 viewers - a drop of 20.5%.

Despite losing nearly 200,000 viewers on the week-to-week numbers, Dynamite still toppled NXT when it comes to the purported Wednesday Night War. For NXT, this week’s offering averaged 691,000 viewers in comparison to a mildly higher 692,000 last week. On the ever-important 18-49 demographic, AEW was head and shoulders above NXT with a 0.32 rating up against the black and gold brand’s 0.18 number.

When looking at the overall Dynamite number, this is third-worst viewership of 2021 for All Elite Wrestling – yet Tony Khan’s promotion has still bested NXT each and every week across 2021.

It’s also worth nothing that this is the first time in company history that AEW has seen a drop in viewership from a pre-PPV Dynamite to a post-PPV Dynamite – let alone such a hefty drop.
