AEW Interested In Jerry Lawler
Jim Ross wants 'The King' alongside him on TNT.
All Elite Wrestling continue to fill their ranks with the great and good of the pro-wrestling industry, past and present, with Dean Malenko becoming just the latest legend willing to lend his expertise.
Thanks to an off-hand comment at this weekend's Starrcast in Las Vegas, it seems as if Jerry Lawler could be the next name to join this increasingly glittering list.
The Memphis veteran was alongside historic announce partner and current AEW commentator/senior advisor Jim Ross for a Q&A at the convention, during which JR quipped that he'd have to give 'The King' a call when his current WWE tenure is up.
Lawler signed a new two year contract with his current employers earlier this year, seemingly being kept on a retainer for the benefit of Saudi shows and, crucially, so he can't swan off to the competition. The symbolism of Raw's announce team from the Monday Night Wars alighting on TNT for WWE's newest rivals would be just too juicy for words - and obviously, the current industry leaders are determined to stop it at all costs.
Let's wait to see if that call comes a bit earlier than expected...
