AEW Legend Says He "Hated" Being A WWE Producer
Being the "scapegoat" for somebody else's nonsense annoyed this ex-WWE man.
Arn Anderson has admitted that he "hated" being a producer for WWE.
The NWA/WCW legend revealed his intense dislike for the role during a recent episode of his podcast with co-host Conrad Thompson. According to Arn, producers immediately become "the scapegoat" whenever things go wrong in-ring or matches don't hit the way bosses want them to.
Anderson recalled "Vince [McMahon] chewing [his] ass out" on several occasions due to things that hadn't gone to plan inside the ring. That, he pointed out, was usually unfair - Arn was handed a script that he had to follow, so he had next-to-no-control over what actually happened.
Basically, he just felt like he was only there to take the flak so creative and the wrestlers themselves didn't have to. That sh*tty role was totally unfulfilling for the former Four Horsemen stalwart, and he doesn't miss it all.
Arn revealed that he didn't really like producing during WCW's dying days either. Vinnie Mac wasn't there to give him a verbal lashing, but dealing with the precious egos in the locker room became too much to handle in the end.
