AEW To Address Faulty Revolution 2021 Explosion On Tonight's Dynamite
Tony Khan doubles down on Kenny Omega's "faulty bomb" explanation in new paid Impact ad.
Tony Khan has confirmed that AEW will address the dud explosion that closed Revolution 2021 on tonight's episode of Dynamite, making the announcement during his and Tony Schiavone's latest paid ad on last night's Impact Wrestling.
The AEW president also doubled down on the idea that Kenny Omega built a dud bomb for his exploding barbed wire deathmatch with Jon Moxley, hence the underwhelming explosion:-
"... and we learned that Kenny Omega might be a great wrestling champion, he might be the best wrestler in the world, and he is AEW's World Champion. He's also terrible at building exploding rings. Eddie Kingston might be a great friend after all. Jon Moxley might not have won the title back but he did win a friend back. The exploding ring ended up not being enough to seriously harm either man but that doesn't take away from what Eddie Kingston did. We'll find out why he did what he did and what happened out there at the end tomorrow night on Dynamite, and so much more."
Kingston ran out to save Moxley from what looked like certain doom as Omega and The Good Brothers left him bound and stranded in the ring following the deathmatch. When Eddie realised he couldn't get Mox out of the ring before the countdown elapsed, he threw himself over his former rival's body, protecting him from the blast.
Unfortunately, said blast comprised of no more than a few puffs of smoke and minor firework bursts.
It'll be interesting to see how AEW handles the biggest flub in company history so far.
