AEW's Trent Beretta has admitted that he "would've fired [himself] too" had he been in charge of WWE a decade or so ago.

Trent told Wrestling Inc that he "was such a baby" during his time in the company between 2007-2013. Beretta spent several years in then-developmental territory FCW before moving up to the main roster (via ECW) in late-2009.

A short run as part of 'The Dude Busters' alongside Caylen Croft then led to stints as a singles act on SmackDown and the revamped NXT. Trent didn't get another shot at the big time in WWE before being cut on 11 January 2013.

He's since carved out a solid career for himself in companies like New Japan, ROH, IMPACT and AEW.

Beretta is happy to relent that he wasn't mature enough to make a splash in WWE's system back when he had the chance. He actually looks back on his six-year stint as "a good experience", but can't blame Vince McMahon/WWE for terminating his contract.

"I probably wouldn't have hired me at 20", he added. How's that for a brutal bit of honesty?
