AEW's Kenny Omega Appears On Impact, Teases Chasing World Title
Kenny Omega teases Impact vs. AEW match, hypes "big" Dynamite announcement.
AEW World Champion Kenny Omega made his much-anticipated Impact Wrestling appearance last night, with announcer Josh Mathews interviewing 'The Cleaner' and Impact executive Don Callis right at the end of the broadcast.
Mathews was made to travel out to Omega and Callis' luxury bus in the parking lot. His first question drew an excellent promo from Don, who outlined his and Kenny's 27-year history, running their roots all the way back to Callis training under Omega's uncle, the Golden Sheik, in Canada.
The Impact Executive Vice President took credit for putting Chris Jericho vs. Omega together in NJPW, which was instrumental in the birth of AEW. He and Kenny had made history twice, with the second instance being Omega's title win at Winter Is Coming.
Omega took centre stage after this. He blamed Jon Moxley for violating their "gentleman's agreement," chastising the former champion for putting his hands on his "family," Callis, who slipped Kenny a microphone to facilitate his win.
As well as teasing a "big announcement" for tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite, Omega hinted at a potential match with Impact World Champion Rich Swann. Calling himself a collector, going back to his days as a comic book enthusiast, Omega floated the idea of going after Impact's belt. "You guys have got a great champion, right?", he asked.
Earlier, Swann had been denied access to the parking lot, with security telling him "the champion has it blocked off", on his own turf.
