Kenny Omega has lashed out at "ignorant" pro wrestling fans who criticised AEW's decision to put Miyu Yamashita in a Women's Title bout opposite reigning champ Thunder Rosa on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite.

The former AEW World Champion torched "pathetic know-it-all fans" (putting "fans" in inverted commas) on Twitter. Explaining, Omega went on to say that he doesn't "take kindly to the mistreatment of the women that dedicate their lives to this. My apologies if having the balls to say something classifies as bitching to you".

Responses to Kenny's words were mixed - some fans agreed that Yamashita was only getting such criticism because of her gender. Meanwhile, a few others opined that they were being critical due to the rapid-fire nature of the storyline.

Omega was having none of it.

He encouraged Miyu to "ignore them". Then, he added that "the true supporters are also watching and support you".

Yamashita had acknowledged in her own tweet that some wrestling fans watching AEW's product might not know who she is. Nonetheless, she vowed to put on a show vs. Rosa and show what she's capable of in front of a brand new audience.
