AEW's Latest Wrestler Signing Kicks Serious A**
Tony Khan quietly signs another free agent wrestler for AEW.
All Elite Wrestling quietly took former MLW and WWE prospect EJ Nduka off the professional wrestling free-agent's market several months ago.
Fightful Select reports that Nduka, who departed MLW earlier in 2023, was signed by AEW shortly after wrestling Konosuke Takeshita on an episode of Dark in late January.
The 34-year-old hasn't wrestled since then, though he was spotted around the company over WrestleMania 309 weekend in April. Fightful notes that EJ has "been under some sort of AEW deal for quite a while."
On top of promotions in Mexico and Japan, Nduka's former employers, WWE, were reportedly interested in bringing him back following his MLW departure. AEW's interest was immediate - and came from the moment he debuted.
There is currently no word on the nature or terms of Nduka's AEW contract.
Nduka, who also went by Ezra Judge in WWE, had been with MLW since shortly after leaving the market leaders in 2021. The 6'8", 284lbs former bodybuilder was considered a surprising name amongst WWE's pandemic era releases, with backstage crew members holding Nduka in high regard on account of his potential. Now, it will be AEW's task to harness that.
