TBS SVP Sam Linksey and others behind the scenes at TBS were reportedly against Chris Jericho being on the latest Ring of Honor PPV: Final Battle.

That's according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with Dave Meltzer reporting that “[TBS SVP] Sam Linsky and TBS actually were at first against Jericho, as one of the top guys in AEW, appearing on this PPV show.”

In fact, there was actually a point in time when this reluctance to have Le Champion on Final Battle would've reportedly led to Jericho dropping the ROH World Championship to Claudio Castagnoli during Full Gear's four-way over the belt. In the end, though, said plans were reversed after "everyone got on the same page" when it came to the idea of the in-ring veteran popping up on the ROH show.

Final Battle would ultimately see Jericho defend the strap against Claudio one-on-one, with the JAS leader eventually tapping out mid Big Swing as the BCC figure came away with his second ROH World Championship win to date.

And The Ocho would soon follow up said notable loss with another headline-snatching shock defeat at the hands of Action Andretti on this week's Dynamite, with Jericho deciding to make the newcomer a star after being impressed by his work in a match with QT Marshall on AEW Dark recently.
