Alberto El Patron Stripped Of GFW World Championship
The now former champion remains indefinitely suspended by the company.
Global Force Wrestling have officially stripped Alberto El Patron of the company's Unified World Championship, as announced on their website.
As per the write-up, El Patron remains suspended following a public altercation with his fiancee, Paige, at Orlando International Airport in July. Alberto has since been cleared of all wrongdoing by local authorities, but GFW note their disappointment at the way he reacted to the situation, stating they "expect more decorum from all on the roster, especially the World Champion."
The company also state that they're yet to determine a date on which he'll be reinstated as an active roster member. El Patron was originally set to defend his title against Low Ki on this week's special 'Destination X' edition of Impact, but the statement would seem to indicate that he won't be present at the tapings at all.
There's no word on what will happen with the Unified World Championship either, though one would assume that GFW will make an announcement in the next dew days. El Patron is the only man to have held the gold since the Impact Wrestling/GFW merger, having defeated Bobby Lashley on July 2nd's Slammiversary XV PPV.
