Last night's AEW Dynamite finished with a brutal Parking Lot Brawl pitting Santana and Ortiz against Best Friends. It was a wild, uncontrollable melee rife with plunder spots, including Trent taking a double powerbomb on a car windshield, and drew widespread and immediate acclaim as it aired, with the social media reaction overwhelmingly positive.

Responding to journalist David Bixenspan on Twitter, AEW President Tony Khan has revealed the whole bout was shot in a single take:-

Dave Meltzer reported on how the bout came together during last night's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He stated that Khan came up with the idea for the match himself, though producer/coach Jerry Lynn and the participants had a role in putting it together, with Lynn credited for many of the ideas.

Per Meltzer, the Parking Lot Brawl was originally supposed to be Santana and Ortiz vs. the Lucha Brothers, though Santana suggested doing it with Best Friends instead. It served as the blow-off for a feud that began with Santana and Ortiz trashing Trent's mom Sue's minivan several weeks ago.

The participants bled, bumped, and suffered for their art last night, so it's nice to see somebody like Mick Foley putting it over huge as well.
