Backstage Update On Riddick Moss' Return To WWE TV
New details on the former 24/7 Champion's SmackDown arrival.
For those who missed this week's episode of WWE SmackDown, one of the bigger talking points of this blue brand outing was the return to WWE TV of Riddick Moss - with the 31-year-old aligning himself with Happy Corbin and laying out Kevin Owens.
A former 24/7 Champion, Moss had been out of action for nearly a year after suffering a torn ACL last October. In terms of his return to action, he competed in a dark match prior to last week's SmackDown, picking up a win over NXT's Odyssey Jones.
As for how Moss' re-emergence was handled, Fightful Select reports that WWE had already decided to assign the powerhouse star to SmackDown prior to the aforementioned dark match. Riddick had previously been drafted to Raw, but the Fightful story adds how, due to him having not appeared on TV since said draft, it made more sense to give Moss a fresh start on SmackDown and pair him up with Happy Corbin.
This isn't the first alliance for Riddick Moss, of course, for he was teamed up with Tino Sabbatelli as God's Gifted Athletes in NXT before both men suffered injuries. Upon being moved to the main roster in January 2020, Moss then found himself at the side of Mojo Rawley as the Hype Man's 'offensive linesman'.
